1. οὗτοι οἱ λόγοι ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ ἐγράφοντο.
These words were being written in the book.
2. καὶ οἱ λόγοι καὶ αἱ γραφαὶ τῶν προφητῶν ἠκούοντο ὑπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν.
Both the words and the writings of the prophets were being heard by the sinners.
3. ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις οὐδὲ ἐδιδασκόμεθα ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ἐδιδάσκομεν τοὺς ἄλλους.
In those days we were neither being taught by him nor were we teaching others.
4. τότε ὄχλος ἐξεπορεύετο πρὸς αὐτόν, νῦν δὲ οὐκέτι ἐκπορεύεται.
Then a crowd was going out to him, but now it no longer goes out.
5. καὶ πρὸς τοὺς πονηροὺς ἀδελφοὺς ἐφέρετο τὰ δῶρα.
And to the evil brothers the gifts were being brought. (Or: "The gifts were also being brought to the evil brothers.")
6. οὔπω βλέπουσι τὸν κύριον ἐν τῇ δόξῃ αὐτοῦ, ἀλλὰ ἐδιδάσκοντο ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ταῖς κακαῖς.
They do not yet see the Lord in his glory, but they were being taught by him even in the evil days.
7. οἱ μαθηταὶ κατήρχοντο πρὸς τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ εἰσηρχόμεθα εἰς τὸ πλοῖον σὺν τῷ κυρίῳ.
The disciples were going down to the sea, and we were entering into the boat with the Lord.
8. ὁ μεσσίας ἐξέβαλλε τὰ δαιμόνια ἐκ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν καὶ ἐκαθάριζεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν.
The Messiah was casting out the demons from the sinners and was cleansing them from their sins.
9. ἐσμὲν ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ, ἐσμὲν δὲ καὶ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ.
We are in the world, but we are also in the kingdom of God.
10. διὰ τὸν λόγον τοῦ κυρίου τὰ δαιμόνια ἐξήρχετο ἐκ τῶν ἀνθρώπων.
Because of the word of the Lord, the demons were coming out of the men. (Note: In Greek, the neuter plural subject τὰ δαιμόνια takes the singular verb ἐξήρχετο).
