1. οἱ μαθηταὶ τοῦ κυρίου ἐσθίουσι ἄρτον καὶ ἰχθὺν καὶ στάχυας.
The disciples of the Lord eat bread and fish and heads of grain.
2. ὁ μεσσίας ἐκήρυσσε τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῖς ἁλιεῦσι καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς ἔπεμπον τοὺς δούλους αὐτῶν ἀκούειν αὐτόν.
The Messiah was preaching the gospel to the fishermen, and the chief priests and the scribes were sending their servants to hear him.
3. ἐσώθημεν τῇ χάριτι διὰ πίστεως.
We were saved by grace through faith. (cf. Ephesians 2:8)
4. ἐν τῇ πόλει ὁ βασιλεὺς μένει, οἱ δὲ ἁλιεῖς παρὰ τῇ θαλάσσῃ.
The king remains in the city, but the fishermen are by the sea.
5. ὁ θεὸς ἔχει τὴν δύναμιν κρίσεως ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ.
God has the power of judgment in the world and in heaven.
6. οἱ ἱερεῖς γινώσκουσι τὸν νόμον, ἀλλ’ οὐ γινώσκουσι χάριν καὶ πίστιν.
The priests know the law, but they do not know grace and faith.
7. ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει τοῦ χριστοῦ ἐλάβομεν ζωὴν καὶ εἰρήνην.
In the resurrection of Christ we received life and peace.
8. στάσις ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ ἐστὶ κακή.
Dissension (or strife/rebellion) in the church/assembly is bad.
9. ὁ βασιλεὺς ὁ ἀγαθὸς βλέπει τὴν ἡμέραν τοῦ κυρίου.
The good king sees the day of the Lord.
10. λήμψεσθε δύναμιν ἀπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἔσεσθε οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ.
You (plural) will receive power from God and will be his disciples. (cf. Acts 1:8)
