Prayer of Simeon (Luke 2:29-32) |
| 29 Νῦν ἀπολύεις τὸν δοῦλόν σου, δέσποτα, κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμά σου ἐν εἰρήνῃ, | 29 “Now Master, you are releasing your servant in peace, according to your word; |
| 30 ὅτι εἶδον οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου τὸ σωτήριόν σου, | 30 For my eyes have seen your salvation, |
| 31 ὃ ἡτοίμασας κατὰ πρόσωπον πάντων τῶν λαῶν, | 31 Which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, |
| 32 φῶς εἰς ἀποκάλυψιν ἐθνῶν καὶ δόξαν λαοῦ σου Ἰσραήλ. | 32 A Light of revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israēl.” |
