1 Preserve me, Oh God; for in you do I put my trust.

16:1 Φύλαξόν με κύριε, ὅτι ἐπὶ σοί ἤλπισα. 16:1 Φύλαξόν με, Κύριε, ὅτι ἐπὶ σοί ἤλπισα.

2 Oh my soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord; my goodness doesn't extend to you”;

16:2 εἶπα τῷ κυρίῳ,
κύριός μου εἶ σύ, ὅτι τῶν ἀγαθῶν μου οὐ χρείαν ἔχεις. 		16:2 εἶπα τῷ Κυρίῳ·
Κύριός μου εἶ σύ, ὅτι τῶν ἀγαθῶν μου οὐ χρείαν ἔχεις.
16:2 I said to the Lord,

3 But to the saints who are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hurry after another god; their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

16:4 ἐπληθύνθησαν αἱ ἀσθένειαι αὐτῶν, μετὰ ταῦτα ἐτάχυναν·
οὐ μὴ συναγάγω τὰς συναγωγὰς αὐτῶν ἐξ αἱμάτων, οὐδὲ μὴ μνησθῶ τῶν ὀνομάτων αὐτῶν διὰ χειλέων μου. 		16:4 ἐπληθύνθησαν αἱ ἀσθένειαι αὐτῶν, μετὰ ταῦτα ἐτάχυναν·

5 Yahweh is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; you maintains my lot.

6 The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a goodly heritage.

7 I will bless Yahweh, who has given me counsel; my insides also instruct me in the night seasons.

8 I have set Yahweh always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
