Esau Moves
1 Αὗται δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Ἡσαῦ (αὐτός ἐστιν Ἐδώμ)· 2 Ἡσαῦ δὲ ἔλαβεν γυναῖκας ἑαυτῷ ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων τῶν Χαναναίων, τὴν Ἀδὰ θυγατέρα Αἰλὼν τοῦ Χετταίου καὶ τὴν Ἐλιβέμα1 θυγατέρα Ἀνὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σεβεγὼν τοῦ Εὐαίου 3 καὶ τὴν Βασεμμὰθ θυγατέρα Ἰσμαὴλ ἀδελφὴν Ναβαϊώθ. 4 ἔτεκεν δὲ Ἀδὰ τῷ Ἡσαῦ τὸν Ἑλιφάς, καὶ Βασεμμὰθ ἔτεκεν τὸν Ῥαγουήλ, 5 καὶ Ἐλιβέμα ἔτεκεν τὸν Ἰεοὺς καὶ τὸν Ἰεγλὸμ καὶ τὸν Κορέ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἡσαῦ οἳ ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ ἐν γῇ Χαναάν. 6 ἔλαβεν δὲ Ἡσαῦ τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας καὶ πάντα τὰ σώματα τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντα καὶ πάντα τὰ κτήνη καὶ πάντα, ὅσα ἐκτήσατο καὶ ὅσα περιεποιήσατο ἐν γῇ Χαναάν, καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐκ γῆς Χαναὰν ἀπὸ προσώπου Ἰακὼβ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ. 7 ἦν γὰρ αὐτῶν τὰ ὑπάρχοντα πολλὰ τοῦ οἰκεῖν ἅμα, καὶ οὐκ ἐδύνατο ἡ γῆ τῆς παροικήσεως αὐτῶν φέρειν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθους τῶν ὑπαρχόντων αὐτῶν. 8 ᾤκησεν δὲ Ἡσαῦ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σηὶρ (Ἡσαῦ αὐτός ἐστιν Ἐδώμ). 1 And these are the generations of Esau (he is Edom). 2 Esau took wives for himself from the daughters of the Canaanites: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah, daughter of Anah the son of Zibeon the Hivite, 3 and Basemath, daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebaioth. 4 And Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, and Basemath bore Reuel, 5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush and Jalam and Korah; these are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan. 6 And Esau took his wives and his sons and his daughters and all the persons of his house, and all his possessions and all the livestock, and everything as much as he had acquired and as much as he had gained in the land of Canaan, and he went out of the land of Canaan from the face of Jacob his brother. 7 For their possessions were too many for them to dwell together, and the land of their sojourning was not able to support them because of the multitude of their possessions. 8 So Esau dwelt in Mount Seir (Esau, he is Edom).

9 Αὗται δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Ἡσαῦ πατρὸς Ἐδὼμ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σηίρ, 10 καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν υἱῶν Ἡσαῦ· Ἑλιφὰς υἱὸς Ἀδὰς γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ καὶ Ῥαγουὴλ υἱὸς Βασεμμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ. 11 ἐγένοντο δὲ υἱοὶ Ἑλιφάς· Θαιμάν, Ὠμάρ, Σωφάρ, Γοθόμ·2 καὶ Κενὲζ 12 Θαμνὰ δὲ ἦν παλλακὴ Ἑλιφὰς τοῦ υἱοῦ Ἡσαῦ καὶ ἔτεκεν τῷ Ἑλιφὰς τὸν Ἀμαλήκ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἀδὰς γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ. 13οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ῥαγουήλ· Ναχόθ,3 Ζαρέ, Σομέ, καὶ Μοζέ· οὗτοι ἦσαν υἱοὶ Βασεμμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ. 14οὗτοι δὲ ἦσαν υἱοὶ Ἐλιβέμας4 θυγατρὸς Ἀνὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σεβεγών, γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ· ἔτεκεν δὲ τῷ Ἡσαῦ τὸν Ἰεοὺς καὶ τὸν Ἰεγλὸμ καὶ τὸν Κορέ. — 15οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες υἱοὶ Ἡσαῦ· υἱοὶ Ἑλιφὰς πρωτοτόκου Ἡσαῦ· ἡγεμὼν Θαιμάν, ἡγεμὼν Ὠμάρ, ἡγεμὼν Σωφάρ, ἡγεμὼν Κενέζ, 16 ἡγεμὼν Κορέ, ἡγεμὼν Γοθόμ, ἡγεμὼν Ἀμαλήκ, οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ἑλιφὰς ἐν γῇ Ἰδουμαίᾳ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἀδάς. 17 καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ῥαγουὴλ υἱοῦ Ἡσαῦ· ἡγεμὼν Ναχόθ, ἡγεμὼν Ζαρέ, ἡγεμὼν Σομέ, ἡγεμὼν Μοζέ· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ῥαγουὴλ ἐν γῇ Ἐδώμ· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Βασεμμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ. 18οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ἐλιβέμας γυναικὸς Ἡσαῦ· ἡγεμὼν Ἰεούς, ἡγεμὼν Ἰεγλόμ, ἡγεμὼν Κορέ· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ἐλιβέμας. 19οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἡσαῦ, καὶ οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες αὐτῶν. οὗτοί εἰσιν υἱοὶ Ἐδώμ. 9 And these are the generations of Esau, the father of Edom, in Mount Seir, 10 and these are the names of the sons of Esau: Eliphaz son of Adah, wife of Esau, and Reuel son of Basemath, wife of Esau. 11 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatham, and Kenaz. 12 And Timna was a concubine of Eliphaz, the son of Esau, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz; these are the sons of Adah, wife of Esau. 13 And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah; these were the sons of Basemath, wife of Esau. 14 And these were the sons of Oholibamah, daughter of Anah the son of Zibeon, wife of Esau; and she bore to Esau Jeush and Jalam and Korah. 15 These are the chiefs, the sons of Esau: sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau; Chief Teman, Chief Omar, Chief Zepho, Chief Kenaz, 16 Chief Korah, Chief Gatham, Chief Amalek; these are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Idumea; these are the sons of Adah. 17 And these are the sons of Reuel, son of Esau: Chief Nahath, Chief Zerah, Chief Shammah, Chief Mizzah; these are the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemath, wife of Esau. 18 And these are the sons of Oholibamah, wife of Esau: Chief Jeush, Chief Jalam, Chief Korah; these are the chiefs of Oholibamah. 19 These are the sons of Esau, and these are their chiefs; these are the sons of Edom.
20Οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Σηὶρ τοῦ Χορραίου τοῦ κατοικοῦντος τὴν γῆν· Λωτάν, Σωβάλ, Σεβεγών, Ἀνὰ 21 καὶ Δησὼν καὶ Ἀσὰρ καὶ Ῥισών· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες τοῦ Χορραίου τοῦ υἱοῦ Σηὶρ ἐν τῇ γῇ Ἐδώμ. 22 ἐγένοντο δὲ υἱοὶ Λωτάν· Χορρὶ καὶ Αἱμάν· ἀδελφὴ δὲ Λωτὰν Θαμνά. 23οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Σωβάλ· Γωλὼν5 καὶ Μαναχὰθ καὶ Γαιβήλ, Σῶφ6 καὶ Ὠμάν.7 24 καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Σεβεγών· Ἀϊέ, καὶ Ὠνάν·8 οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ Ὠνάς,8 ὃς εὗρεν τὸν Ἰαμὶν9 ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, ὅτε ἔνεμεν τὰ ὑποζύγια Σεβεγὼν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ. 25οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ἀνά· Δησών· καὶ Ἐλιβέμα θυγάτηρ Ἀνά. 26οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Δησών· Ἀμαδὰ καὶ Ἀσβὰν καὶ Ἰεθρὰν10 καὶ Χαρράν. 27οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ἀσάρ· Βαλαὰν11 καὶ Ζουκὰμ καὶ Ἰωυκὰμ12 καὶ Οὐκάν. 28οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ῥισών· Ὢς καὶ Ἀράμ. 29οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Χορρί· ἡγεμὼν Λωτάν, ἡγεμὼν Σωβάλ, ἡγεμὼν Σεβεγών, ἡγεμὼν Ἀνά, 30 ἡγεμὼν Δησών, ἡγεμὼν Ἀσάρ, ἡγεμὼν Ῥισών. οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Χορρὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡγεμονίαις αὐτῶν ἐν γῇ Ἐδώμ. 20 And these are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, 21 and Dishon and Ezer and Dishan; these are the chiefs of the Horite, the son of Seir, in the land of Edom. 22 And the sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and the sister of Lotan was Timna. 23 And these are the sons of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath and Ebal, Shepho and Onam. 24 And these are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah; this is the Anah who found the warm springs in the wilderness when he was pasturing the beasts of burden of Zibeon his father. 25 And these are the sons of Anah: Dishon; and Oholibamah was the daughter of Anah. 26 And these are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan and Eshban and Ithran and Cheran. 27 And these are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan and Zaavan and Akan. 28 And these are the sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran. 29 These are the chiefs of the Horite: Chief Lotan, Chief Shobal, Chief Zibeon, Chief Anah, 30 Chief Dishon, Chief Ezer, Chief Dishan; these are the chiefs of the Horite according to their chiefdoms in the land of Edom.
31 Καὶ οὗτοι οἱ βασιλεῖς οἱ βασιλεύσαντες ἐν Ἐδὼμ πρὸ τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι βασιλέα ἐν Ἰσραήλ. 32 καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ἐδὼμ Βαλὰκ υἱὸς τοῦ Βεώρ, καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Δενναβά. 33 ἀπέθανεν δὲ Βαλάκ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ' αὐτοῦ Ἰωβὰβ υἱὸς Ζάρα ἐκ Βοσόρρας. 34 ἀπέθανεν δὲ Ἰωβάβ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ' αὐτοῦ Ἀσὸμ13 ἐκ τῆς γῆς Θαιμανών. 35 ἀπέθανεν δὲ Ἀσόμ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ' αὐτοῦ Ἀδὰδ υἱὸς Βαρὰδ ὁ ἐκκόψας Μαδιὰμ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ Μωάβ, καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Γεθθαίμ.14 36 ἀπέθανεν δὲ Ἀδάδ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ' αὐτοῦ Σαμαλὰ15 ἐκ Μασέκκας.16 37 ἀπέθανεν δὲ Σαμαλά, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ' αὐτοῦ Σαοὺλ ἐκ Ῥοωβὼθ τῆς παρὰ ποταμόν. 38 ἀπέθανεν δὲ Σαούλ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ' αὐτοῦ Βαλαεννὼν17 υἱὸς Ἀχοβώρ. 39 ἀπέθανεν δὲ Βαλαεννὼν υἱὸς Ἀχοβώρ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ' αὐτοῦ Ἀρὰδ υἱὸς Βαράδ, καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Φογώρ, ὄνομα δὲ τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ Μαιτεβεὴλ18 θυγάτηρ Ματραὶθ υἱοῦ Μαιζοόβ.19 31 And these are the kings who reigned in Edom before a king reigned in Israel. 32 And Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhabah. 33 And Bela died, and Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place. 34 And Jobab died, and Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned in his place. 35 And Husham died, and Hadad son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place, and the name of his city was Avith. 36 And Hadad died, and Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place. 37 And Samlah died, and Saul from Rehoboth on the river reigned in his place. 38 And Saul died, and Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place. 39 And Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, and Hadad son of Bedad reigned in his place, and the name of his city was Pau; and the name of his wife was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab.
40 Ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν ἡγεμόνων Ἡσαῦ ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς αὐτῶν κατὰ τόπον αὐτῶν, ἐν ταῖς χώραις αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν αὐτῶν· ἡγεμὼν Θαμνά, ἡγεμὼν Γωλά, ἡγεμὼν Ἰεθὲρ 41 ἡγεμὼν Ἐλιβέμας ἡγεμὼν Ἡλὰς ἡγεμὼν Φινών, 42 ἡγεμὼν Κενέζ, ἡγεμὼν Θαιμάν, ἡγεμὼν Μαζάρ, 43 ἡγεμὼν Μεγεδιήλ,20 ἡγεμὼν Ζαφωίμ. οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ἐδὼμ ἐν ταῖς κατῳκοδομημέναις ἐν τῇ γῇ τῆς κτήσεως αὐτῶν. Οὗτος Ἡσαῦ πατὴρ Ἐδώμ. 40 These are the names of the chiefs of Esau, in their tribes according to their places, in their countries and in their nations: Chief Timna, Chief Alvah, Chief Jetheth, 41 Chief Oholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon, 42 Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar, 43 Chief Magdiel, Chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom in their settlements in the land of their possession. This is Esau, the father of Edom.
