Genealogy of Jesus
(Luke 3:23-38)

The record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham: The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Then Solomōn fathered Rehoboam, Rehoboam fathered Abijah, and Abijah fathered Asa. And Solomōn fathered Rehoboam; and Rehoboam fathered Abijah; and Abijah fathered Asa;
Then Asa fathered Jehōshaphat, Jehōshaphat fathered Jōram, and Jōram fathered Uzziah. And Asa fathered Jehōshaphat; and Jehōshaphat fathered Jōram; and Jōram fathered Uzziah;
Then Jōsiah fathered Jeconiah and his brothers, at the time of the Babylōnian deportation. Then Jōsiah fathered Jeconiah and his brothers, at the time of the Babylōnian deportation.
Then Jacōb fathered Jōsēph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ. And Jacōb fathered Jōsēph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the Babylōnian deportation, fourteen generations; and from the Babylōnian deportation to the Christ, fourteen generations. So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the Babylōnian deportation, fourteen generations; and from the Babylōnian deportation to the Christ, fourteen generations.

And Jōsēph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to expose her, planned to send her away secretly. Then Jōsēph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to expose her publically, planned to send her away secretly.
But when he had considered this, suddenly! an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Jōsēph, son of David, don’t begin to be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for in her is born of the Holy Spirit. But when he had considered this, look! an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Jōsēph, son of David, don’t begin to be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for in her is born of the Holy Spirit.
