The Morning Offering
5.1 Give ear to my words, O Lord; understand my cry. 5.2 Attend to the voice of my petition, my King and my God; for to You I will pray, O Lord. 5.3 In the morning You shall hear my voice; in the morning I will stand before You, and I will look up. 5.4 For You are not a God who wills lawlessness; nor shall the one who acts wickedly dwell with You. 5.5 Nor shall the lawbreakers remain before Your eyes; You have hated all those who work lawlessness. 5.6 You will destroy all who speak a lie; the Lord detests a man of blood and deceit. 5.7 But I, in the abundance of Your mercy, will enter into Your house; I will worship toward Your holy temple in Your fear.
The Way of the Righteous vs. The Deceitful
5.8 O Lord, guide me in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make my way straight before You. 5.9 For there is no truth in their mouth; their heart is vain. Their throat is an opened grave; they have dealt deceitfully with their tongues. 5.10 Judge them, O God; let them fall away from their counsels. According to the abundance of their impieties, cast them out, for they have embittered You, O Lord.
The Shield of Favor
5.11 And let all who hope in You be glad; they shall exult forever, and You shall dwell among them. And all who love Your name shall boast in You. 5.12 For You, Lord, will bless the righteous; as with a shield of good-will You have crowned us.
