For what was impossible for the Law—in that it was powerless through the flesh—God did: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as a sacrifice for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
so that the righteous requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
For those who exist according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who exist according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
For the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace;
because the mindset of the flesh is hostile toward God, for it does not subject itself to God’s law, nor is it even able to do so.
And those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him.
But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
And if the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

So then, brothers, we are debtors—but not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
For if you live according to the flesh, you are about to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
And if children, also heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

And we know that for those who love God, he works all things together for good—for those who are the called according to his purpose.
Because those whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
And those whom he predestined, these he also called; and those whom he called, these he also declared righteous; and those whom he declared righteous, these he also glorified.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not even spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also, along with him, graciously grant us all things?
Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who declares righteous.
Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is also at the right hand of God, and who is interceding for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or the sword?
Just as it is written:
“For your sake we are being put to death all day long;
we were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
{Psalm 43 (44):22}
